About FaceSage: Face Readings and Guides
FaceSage is an app that writes personality readings from facial photos. It measures the face and uses AI to write a description based on face-reading traditions. You can try it with your own photo or with a friend’s permission.
What the app offers
- Personality readings. An archetype name, first-impression scores, and a written description of personality traits associated with the features.
- Dating readings. A reading about affection, communication, and how someone might approach a relationship.
- Friendship readings. A reading about keeping in touch, helping each other, and dealing with disagreements.
- Two-person matches. A comparison of two people’s readings, with topics they can discuss together.
- Follow-up questions. Ask the app to explain something in the reading.
Scanning a photo is free. You get an archetype and six first-impression scores with no email or card. The written personality, dating, and friendship readings and two-person matches are paid. See pricing for the options, or scan a photo for free.
How the readings are made
The app uses facial measurements to find relevant descriptions in its collection of sources. These include Chinese mian xiang, Indian samudrika shastra, Greek and Arabic physiognomy, Western personology, French morphopsychology, and research on first impressions.
AI uses the measurements and descriptions to write the reading. The method guide explains what happens at each step.
How to use a reading
Read it for fun, compare it with your experience, or use it to start a conversation. A face reading cannot prove someone’s personality, tell you how they feel, or predict how a relationship will turn out. Getting to know the person is more useful than relying on a score.
Our guides
The blog explains face-reading terms, features, and traditions. It also looks at research and questions about accuracy. You can browse by feature, such as the eyes or jaw, or by a tradition such as Chinese mian xiang.
We use AI-assisted writing, including ChatGPT, and check the guides before publication. Chen Wang-yuen is the credited writer and editor. If you spot an error or want to suggest a source, let us know.
